16 Aug Using Love Languages in Your Promotions
I wanted to share some ideas with you on how you can incorporate “Love Languages” into your next promotional products project! Love Languages were developed by Gary Chapman, who looks at the five main ways in which people like to receive love or affection. These five “Love Languages” are Quality Time, Words of Affirmation, Gifts, Acts of Service, and Physical Touch. If you want to know what your Love Language is, check out the quiz here!
And while these love languages can apply to romantic partners, that can also be a great piece of information in other relationships and even at work! Knowing how your team or clients likes to be “loved” can be a powerful tool when trying to increase engagement! I know you may be thinking that if you are going a promotional gift you would be addressing those who have the “Gifts” Love language, but I thought I would share some gifting ideas that would work for the other love languages too!
Give a product that you and your recipient can do together, or something recipients can do with someone they want to spend time with. Perhaps a custom puzzle or a game that you can play together while connecting. I also like a coffee mug gift set, like this one or even a fondue set they can share with friends, and you can spend some nice time catching up and connecting with them. Then, they can continue to use the products to connect with friends and family!

A great idea for this, a would be to literally share a word of affirmation; we have a bunch of Stress relievers that you can brand with your logo in the shapes of inspirational words to provide that encouragement and words that these recipients desire. Awards and recognition are also a great space to share specific and personalized words of affirmation to the recipient. Another way you can incorporate words of affirmation to your gift is to include a personally hard written note with specifics on why that person is significant to you for an added personal touch!

Acts of service are all about helping the other person, so that can be done with products too! Incorporate an item that can help recipients save time or energy. A nice way to do that could be gifting them a kit of goodies with everything they need to have their next BBQ so they have everything they need at their fingertips! Or, gift this awesome movie night gift set, so they can just kick back and relax, and have all they need to enjoy a night off!

There are a couple of products I think about when it comes to giving a gift for someone who values physical touch. The first being blankets, because with the right product a blanket can literally make you feel like you are being enveloped in a warm hug. My personal choice would be the Aspen throw, which is possibly the coziest and softest blanket I have felt in my 9 years in the industry! And the other product I thought could be a nice gift for physical touch, are these awesome hand help massage guns, and we have quite a range so you are sure to find one that would work best for your next project.

For the recipient who loves getting gifts, a branded promotional item of any kind would be valued, but it would also be good to perhaps give a little extra thought for this person to make their gift extra special. For this, I would recommend choosing a product that we can add personalization to, so the recipient knows you specifically got that item for them. And, we have LOTS of options that we can add personalization to, from journals to apparel to drinkware!
